American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. The nonprofit has been fighting for research in heart disease for over 65 years; AHA’s investment in heart disease and stroke research totals more than $3.5 billion.

The Work

American Heart Association needed help leveraging their corporate partnerships and create a campaign to help their goal of reaching $1B in fundraising by 2020.

We helped the American Heart Association leverage their expansive corporate partnership database to create a national call-to-action platform campaign around nationwide giving.

The campaign, dubbed Life Is Why We Give, implored Americans everywhere to come together at the same time to declare their support for American Heart Association. Driven primarily by retailers around the country going directly to consumers through point-of-sale “register” asks, the campaign included an interactive digital HUB, an online giving overlay, and a national marketing campaign including advertising through traditional, digital and social outlets; aggressive media relations, organic social media chatter and marketing through all relevant American Heart Association communication vehicles.
