Building a Strategic New Start
Since 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential. As the nation’s largest donor-and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country.
The Ask
Matchfire’s task was to build a long-term strategic plan for acquisition, optimization and retention of corporate partners, as well as serve in a team-extension capacity to assist in developing relationships. Big Brothers Big Sisters wasn’t seeing as much growth when compared to previous years so they needed a refreshed approach.
The Solution
We worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters to develop the corporate alliance strategy to be integrated into their national platform and brand campaign, Start Something.
The web series follows mentors, mentees, families and staff members who make the Big Brothers Big Sisters program work. Studies have shown that youth who face adversity are more likely to do better in school, avoid bad behavior and have higher self esteem, when enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Our strategic work led to successful corporate partnerships with companies including Subaru, Edible Arrangements, Neiman Marcus, Nivea, Tostitos, and Best Buy.
