On June 11th, LG Electronics USA will be presented with the 2019 Corporate Leadership Award at the Anthem in Washington D.C. This award is given annually to recognize a leading business that exemplifies an extraordinary focus on community service and corporate social responsibility.
LG’s deep commitment to corporate social responsibility in the United States encompasses employee volunteerism, disaster relief, environmental sustainability and social impact through its newest platform Life’s Good: Experience Happiness. Launched in 2017, LG set a goal to deliver sustainable happiness skills to 5.5 million young adults over 5 years.
“The platform that LG has created to teach and inspire youth provides the necessary skills to combat stress and maintain happiness for long-term success,” said NABLF President Marcellus Alexander. “It is an honor to present this award to a company that is so committed to serving the next generation.”
It has been a privilege for Matchfire to work alongside leadership at LG Electronics to bring this initiative to life. Through strategic development and unique partnerships, events and a website platform built to deliver resources from non-profit partners and educational resource providers such as Greater Good Science Center, Discovery Education, Project Happiness, Inner Explorer, and CASEL, LG has proudly reached over 1.8 million youth in their first two years.
“One of the key principles to sustaining happiness is to practice gratitude in your personal and professional life,” said Matchfire CEO Chris Noble. “We’re so grateful to LG for trusting us to help bring together this program and these partners and to launch it in a way that is meaningful both to the brand and the teens who need these skills.”
One of the unique events that Matchfire helped bring to life was a large-scale celebration of this milestone on the United Nations International Day of Happiness. This event, held at the top of One World Observatory in NYC in partnership with Daybreaker, celebrity influencers, and young adults who had benefitted from the six sustainable happiness skills, highlighted that research shows that sustainable happiness is achievable for kids and adults of any age.
